Our third journal club session will feature author Elizabeth Ansert, DPM. She will be discussing two articles, "Diabetes-Related Extremity Amputation Depression and Distress (DREADD): A Multimethod Study" and "The Diabetic Foot–Pain–Depression Cycle."

Learning objectives:
  1. Understand that an association exists between depression, diabetes complications, and pain 
  2. Identify the need to included psychiatry and other mental health clinicians as members of limb preservation teams. 
  3. Recognize that a novel form of depression can occur after diabetes-related extremity amputation (DREADD) and understand how to screen your patients for depression.

To receive full educational credit (up to 1 CECH) for this event, you must be online for the duration of the program. The Zoom webinar platform will record your attendance and participation during the event. You must authenticate with a Zoom account and log in with your own Zoom account username and password.

ACPM Fellow and Member registration cost for this event is $10. Non-ACPM member registration cost for this event is $25. Industry registration for this event is $50. ACPM Student and Resident member registration cost for this event is $0.

Cancellations are subject to a $5 withdrawal fee. No cancellations will be accepted within 72 hours of the meeting.

 

Accreditation 
The American College of Podiatric Medicine is approved by the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as a provider of continuing education in podiatric medicine. American College of Podiatric Medicine has approved this activity for a maximum of 1 continuing education contact hour.

CE certificates will be sent within 30 days of the event, after attendance is verified and an evaluation is filled out.
